Before continuing let me clear up a common misconception about Rizq. Rizq isn't just money, because some people have alot of money but no eman or health, or children or peace of mind. Rizq emcompasses all forms of sustainance from your happiness to your ability to walk. We hope this knowledge benefits you inshallah.
1. Charity
It doesn't have to be money, charity can be a smile, a helping hand, it can be food you make at home given to the homeless. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Charity does not decrease wealth.” - Sahih Muslim This is why at Fajr Noor we always give charity at the end of every month.
2. Seek Knowledge
Especially knowledge about Islam and from the Islamic Perspective. This can be from Islamic lectures that you can find on youtube, going to islamic talks / events or reading Islamic books. It is said that the knowledge of the Quran is like an ocean, no matter how much you gain, there is always more to learn. The ability to constantly seek knowledge will definitely increase your rizq as The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.” - Sunan Ibn Majah.
3. Strengthening Family Ties
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever would like his rizq to be increased and his life span to be extended, should uphold the ties of kinship." - Sahih Bukhari This hadith highlights the importance of family relationships in the context of rizq. We know family can be difficult at times but if you strive for the sake of Allah and try your best to maintain healthy relationships, you will see your rizq increase.
4. Performing Good and avoiding bad
The more you follow the teachings of Islam and be the goodness that Islam encourages you to be through performing good deeds like 5 times salah, wearing the hijab, avoiding gossip, avoiding slander, avoiding worldly temptations like music, excessive makeup etc. and striving sincerely for Allah, the more you will notice your rizq increase. Allah rewards righteous actions but equally there are consequnces for bad actions. The Prophet ﷺ said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that." - Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 56
5. Be Grateful
It seems that whenever hard times come we humans are so quick to complain about the inconveniences of life. However, when we fight this bad habit and remain grateful and thank Allah for the bad times, our rizq increases. Because deep down we know that Allah's plans are always better than our own. Allah says, "If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe." Quran 14:7. This verse clearly links gratitude with the increase in Allah’s blessings. Cultivating an attitude of gratitude for what we already have will opens doors to more blessings.
In conclusion, increasing our rizq is not just about seeking more wealth but about aligning our lives with Quranic principles. The more deeply our lifestyle intrigates with these principles, the more we find ourselves trusting the wisdom of Allah, the more we open ourselves to the abundant provision from the One who is the Provider, the Most Merciful, and the Most Generous. Remember, the true essence of rizq lies in its barakah (blessing) – not just in its quantity but in the peace, contentment, and benefit it brings to our lives. May Allah increase us all in rizq that is good, halal, and beneficial in this world and the Hereafter. Ameen!
